I treat myself to something I enjoy, like a new book or piece of clothing.
I have been a stay at home mom/step mom for over 7 years. I thought it would be a cake walk and instead I have cake in my face. Its the hardest, most thankless job ever. Needless to say, I need desperately to escape once in a while. To do this, a couple times a year – usually right after Christmas and right around Mother’s Day – I book a room at a nice local hotel. I get an early check in and check out. I then spend that entire 24 hours laying in a comfy bed, watching Pay Per View movies and pigging out on room service. Sometimes I will give myself a facial and/or a manicure. It is wonderful. (sigh) Is it Christmas yet???!!!
I set aside 10.00 out of every paycheck and wait for that special something that i need and dont have to worry about being broke.
I often treat myself to watching cinema, because it allows me to escape this screwed up world, and travel to other places. After all, movies don’t judge you, so you can be yourself.

To treat ourselves, my husband and I get to have a bit of spending cash each month. That has helped me not only save up some personal cash, but given me room to buy anything that I feel I want, but not necessarly need.
Each of us has our own mad money, we set aside alittle money out of each paycheck and then we can spend or save it for something we want. The agreement is the other person cannot make fun or discourage the other person’s purchase.
My husband likes to play hockey once a week and I like to attend fundraising events for local dog rescue groups. My dog and I go to Bark-in-the-Park, wags and wine, and even ice cream socials. He has won numerous costume contests and I like to get out and about with him.
Sometimes all of us need alittle time for ourselves, and I believe this has helped strengthen our marriage.
Can you keep a secret??? Well, when I really need a break and I really, really think I deserve one, I take the afternoon off of work – and I don’t tell any family member and I head to a movie – anyone I want to see..no compromise and I also get the treats I want to eat when I’m there…no sharing. Somehow, that little bit of “me” time, away from it all, with no gadgets on, is simply the best!
I treat myself by treating others. What greater joy than to help someone you love or a stranger. I receive great satisfaction from giving to someone else. Be it a kind word or a significant monetary gift, helping another person is the greatest gift a person can give oneself.
Everyday I try to take 20 or 30 minutes just for myself. Then I read a book, listen to my favorite songs, or just relax.

I drink a half pint of gin to vaso-dilate my brain’s capillaries, before doing handstands. The inversion of my body combined with alcohol improves the blood flow in my brain. My ability to do handstands is due to the Charles Atlas method of physical fitness.
I treat myself to my favorite piece of candy, that’s how I treat myself to something special. If I’ve neglected myself for weeks at a time, meaning I’ve done only for others, I will go to the local drug store and pick myself up my all-time favorite candy, Sour Gummy LifeSavers, Berry Flavor. Oh so yummy!

I’m an icecream lover but we rarely keep it on hand just to help cut expenses and stay healthy. However, there is this great little creamery downtown that makes their own ice cream and uses only natural and local ingredients. So sometimes if I want to treat myself, I take a walk and stop by for a cone.
After a long hard day I like to take a hot soak in the tub with a good book. It’s an added plus if my sweet husband sets out some candles for me too!
