I think every woman should read Goodbye Dearest Holly by Kevin Wells. His daughter and her friend were murdered, and it was a story that completely shook the UK at the time. He wrote a diary at the time so he wouldn’t forget any of the facts, and it got turned into a novel. At times this book is very sad, and very heartbreaking, but I’ve never read such a strong account of love for a daughter. No fiction writer could capture it in the same way a real father could. It’s an absolutely outstanding read, and I’d recommend it to mothers, grandmothers, single ladies… it just really makes you appreciate how good we’ve got life.

One of my absolute most favorite books ever is The Story of O. I found this book when I was younger and had the desire to mingle in the lifestyle defined in this book. I no longer mingle in that lifestyle but when asked the title of my favorite book I always reply with The Story of O.
I think every woman should read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

Movie everyone should see is the classic Terms of Endearment.
Every woman should ready I Feel Bad About My Neck by Nora Ephron. It’s a hilarious look at aging gracefully (or not so gracefully). Eventually, we’re all going there.
I think every woman should read We Were the Mulvaneys by Joyce Carol Oates. It will show you how fragile our families and our lives really are and how quickly everything could change.
Gone with the wind–it’s legendary!!

Gone with the Wind its such a classic
The very first thing that pops into my head: “Little Women”.
Oh yes, charming book. So many emotions in it – every woman should read it. Or see one of the movies.
“Anne of Green Gables” is another. (Yes, I really like classic literature, as you can see) But when I say to read AoGG… I mean the whole series… all 8 books! THAT is what women should be reading.
Old. Classic. Beautiful story.
Love love twiglight every woman should read and see that movie
I also think what a woman wants is a must see movie+
I have a 3rd one too.
To every women out there, you will greatly benefit from reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House” books.
Come on! Who agrees with me?
These books are filled with sorrows, happiness, surprises, and a quaint little air about them. Such fun to read these. Mothers especially will marvel at the patience that is spotlighted in this series of books… the patience of this family who had so many burdens…. I say that a woman could learn a lot from reading “Little House”. I know that one of you reading this has to agree… right?
I would suggest To Kill A Mockingbird. The story of a young girls journey in a small southern town and the relationships she has with the people in her life (especially her father) is one of the richest story I’ve ever read.
I would also suggest The Joyluck Club.
I think every woman should see Dirty Dancing at least once. It’s a classic coming of age movie and I’ve seen it a trillion times.
Everyone should read A Walk to Remember from Nicholas Sparks. In my opinion, is a book you will never forget.

The Excellent Wife-Martha Peace
The Family-JR Miller
Lies Women Believe-Nancy Leigh Demoss
Every woman should read “The Red Tent” by Anita Diamant. This is the story of Dinah, who is Jacob’s daughter in the Bible (book of Genesis). It’s a fantastic story of the binds that hold women together and how traditions are passed down through women. I was fascinated by by the book and although it’s a novel, it’s still researched and historically accurate in many areas.

I would say Steel Magnolias – the movie since I’ve never read the book. It’s such a powerful story about different women and how they deal with the joys and heartbreaks in life. This is such a wonderfully acted, powerful movie that moves me every time I see it.
The movie “Iron Jawed Angels” is amazing. It chronicles the push for the 19th Amendment and the women behind it. I cry every time I watch it and am so thankful for their courage.
The movie The Way We Were. Even though it is a sad movie, I think the messages are good. Even if you love someone, sometimes love is not enough. Do not compromise who you are to hold onto love. If you truly love someone, and you want him or her to be happy in life, know when to let go.

I think every woman should watch Mean Girls and remember NOT to be like that!
Everyone should read “Marjorie Morningstar.” It’s such a good book, romantic and uplifting. I’ve read it several times and really enjoy it.
Every woman must see the movie “Beaches” with Bette Midler. It will teach you that women must stick together and that friendships are vital to life. It is such a good movie that will make you laugh and cry. I haven’t watched it in some time- but I’m going to again soon.
Alfred Kinsey’s Sexual Behavior in the Human Female. This book put emphasis on the clitoral orgasm influencing a generation of sexually liberated women.
“Daughter of Fortune” by Isabel Allende would be my heartfelt recommendation…
