25 Interesting(?) Things About A8 You Didn’t Know

An Assignment from Inspired Maven

Sarah Prout, a social media expert, asked us to write 25 interesting things about ourselves or our business.  Here goes…
  1. The Anonymous8 has grown to about the Anonymous12, if you count the number of women I contact for opinions.
  2. I love being anonymous online.  It has given me a sense of freedom and a self-confidence I could have never foreseen.
  3. Being anonymous in real life stinks.  It is hard telling people what you do when you can’t share.  It is also hard to build a site this way, because you have to build a new network instead of using your current one.
  4. Writing has become my outlet.  NEVER thought that would happen.
  5. Coming up with content that meets my standards is my biggest challenge.
  6. The online community and friends around Anonymous8 is awesome!  They are wholesome, thoughtful, interesting, and funny.  Plus, they like to discuss racy stuff!
  7. I do business strategy and consulting in my other life.  I love to study business plans and business models.
  8. Making people laugh and smile is one of my favorite things to do.
  9. A sense of humor is key to life.  Seriously.
  10. I have toyed with becoming a stand up comedian, but would never do it for fear of being cut off from my children (by their own initiative) and because I am pretty sure I would be lousy.
  11. I LOVE stories about people.  Everyone is fascinating.  Everyone has a story.
  12. 18 months ago I couldn’t name my favorite restaurant because I was so busy taking care of others and their needs.  It bothered me then. It doesn’t bother me now.
  13. I have learned more from my parents and children than from anyone else.
  14. Rain is amazing.  It makes us slow down and hunker down inside.  Plus, did you know that hot chocolate is a perfectly fine drink as long as the weather is below 90 degrees?
  15. Someone taught me to always be part of a cause greater than yourself.  It is good for the world and it will give you an incredible amount of satisfaction.
  16. When meeting people, I tend to ask them a lot of questions, because there is a need for me to understand them and where they come from.
  17. My friends call me an “idea machine.”  This is both one of my biggest strengths and biggest weaknesses.
  18. If I could have dinner with four people of my choosing (outside of family), they would be:  Nelson Mandela, Albert Einstein (I want to see if his hair really defies gravity), Eleanor Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
  19. One thing that I would love for Anonymous8 is a solid mentor.  Any takers out there?
  20. One of life’s greatest pleasures is picking food out of a garden or off a tree and then relishing it right then and there.
  21. Talking about all things male, female, and taboo does not come naturally to me.  This is completely out of character, but it certainly has made dinner party conversations more interesting…
  22. I prefer books, movies, and the internet to TV.
  23. Of all of the wonderful parts of being a mother, reading books (long ones) out loud to my kids is one of my greatest pleasures.  I love to see their eyes and their reactions to a story as it unfolds.
  24. Feeding hungry teens is really satisfying.
  25. Life is both a gift and an adventure and I am grateful for every day.

Sincerely yours,

Sarah Baron

    Sarah,

Thanks for sharing these things about yourself. It must’ve been an interesting task doing this from a blog site called Anonymous8! Good to know you a little better. I love your blog and yes, you do make me laugh (and sometimes blush).

    Dear Suellen,
Thanks for the lovely comment. The thing about your comment that makes me happiest is the blushing and laughing part. That made my day.
    Sincerely yours,
    Sarah Baron

I love people’s stories too Sarah! They are more fascinating than anything else! :)

This site is wonderful. Laugh, blush, have a little sad sometimes – it has it all.

I have to concur with Smoph (well, I have to agree with her anyway :) ) – this is a wonderful site, and I don’t think you need to have any fears over writing or content quality.
